Privacy Policy
Your code stays on your Mac.
Last updated September 2026.
What leaves your Mac
GitMon makes exactly two kinds of outbound network calls:
- License validation to Polar: sends your license key, an activation ID, and your Mac's computer name (so you can identify it in the customer portal) at most once per day.
- Update checks to GitHub: downloads the Sparkle XML appcast feed from
github.com/suresk/gitmonto notify you of new versions.
There is zero analytics, zero telemetry, zero error reporting, and zero user account creation. GitMon never reads file contents, commit diffs, or credentials, and never transmits your repository paths, commit history, or branch names anywhere.
This website
getgitmon.com is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It uses Google Analytics to measure visitor counts and referral sources. Purchases are processed by Polar, whose privacy policy governs checkout.
What stays on your Mac
Your trial start timestamp, license key, and activation state are stored securely in your macOS Keychain (com.suresk.gitmon.license). Your configured search folders and client preferences are stored in UserDefaults. GitMon performs 100% on-device scanning.
