Your code stays on your Mac.

What leaves your Mac
GitMon makes exactly two kinds of outbound network calls:
- License validation to Polar: sends your license key, an activation ID, and your Mac's computer name (so you can identify it in the customer portal) at most once per day.
- Update checks: about once a day, GitMon asks
updates.uresk.netwhether a newer version exists. The request says which version of GitMon you have and one word for its license state: in trial, licensed, trial ended, or license needs attention. We add that to a daily count per version and state — that count is all we keep. We don't store your IP address or anything else that could tell your Mac apart from anyone else's. Updates themselves still download from GitHub. You can turn off automatic update checks in GitMon's Settings, under License & Updates (Check for updates automatically).
No tracking: no identifiers, no usage events, no crash reports, no account. GitMon never reads file contents, commit diffs, or credentials, and never transmits your repository paths, commit history, or branch names anywhere.
This website
getgitmon.com is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It uses Google Analytics to measure visitor counts and referral sources. Purchases are processed by Polar, whose privacy policy governs checkout.
What stays on your Mac
Your trial start timestamp, license key, and activation state are stored securely in your macOS Keychain (com.suresk.gitmon.license). Your configured search folders and client preferences are stored in UserDefaults. GitMon performs 100% on-device scanning.
